How to Measure for a Coffee Table
Length – Aim for about 2/3 the length of your sofa. An 84" sofa pairs well with a coffee table around 56" long.
Distance – Leave 14–18" (36–46 cm) between the edge of the sofa and the table: close enough to reach a drink, far enough to walk past.
Height – Match the sofa’s seat height or go 1–2" (2.5–5 cm) lower. Most coffee tables are 16–18" (41–46 cm) tall.
