Can I see an entertainment center in person?
You're welcome to visit our Vancouver workshop, near Triumph and Victoria, to see any piece we're working on. Please message us at hello@ombahome.com to schedule a visit.
Alternatively, you can order wood samples.
Customizations
What can I customize?
You can customize the overall width, height and depth; the size of the TV opening; wood type; and the arrangement of open storage, doors, sliding doors and drawers.
The sketching tool is intended to communicate the layout rather than create a scale drawing.
How should I size the opening around my TV?
The TV size presets are a starting point and add approximately 1" of clearance on each side, top and bottom. TV dimensions vary by model, so please check your TV's actual exterior width and height and edit the inside opening dimensions as needed.
Can you accommodate a soundbar, receiver or other electronics?
Can you add cable-management openings?
Can I specify a different wood type?
We're happy to work with any wood type you'd like, please indicate your preference when reaching out and we'll provide a quote.
Can entertainment centers be painted or stained?
We don't offer painted or stained furniture but we can leave any piece unfinished if you'd like to do so yourself
Dimensions
Can I customize the overall dimensions?
Yes. Width, height and depth can all be customized. The builder also lets you specify the inside width and height of the TV opening independently.
What is the default shelf height?
Each standard shelf opening is 11.5" tall by default, but this can be customized.
What is the default depth?
The default depth is 12.5", but this can be customized.
Shipping
How much is shipping?
Shipping is included in the quoted price.
How long will it take to build my custom entertainment center?
Most custom entertainment centers are made to order in approximately 6-8 weeks. We will confirm timing with your quote.
What kind of assembly is required?
Assembly requirements depend on the size and configuration of the piece. We will confirm the assembly and delivery approach with your quote.
For Vancouver orders of large entertainment centers, local delivery of an assembled piece may be possible.
Construction
Where are the custom entertainment centers made?
All of our pieces, including custom entertainment centers, are built in our Vancouver workshop.
What type of wood is used?
All of our furniture is built with North American hardwoods. We do not use MDF, plywood or otherwise veneered wood.
We offer red oak, white oak and walnut as a standard but are happy to work with other woods as necessary.
How are the doors built?
Our doors have no visible handles, they use a push to open mechanism and Blum soft close hinges
How are sliding doors built?
Our sliding doors have a discreet finger hole for opening them. They glide along grooves in the shelves above and below them.
How are drawers built?
Our drawer boxes are built with dovetail joints and wooden drawer slides. The entire drawer box is built out of solid wood.
