Design details
The horizontal bookshelf has two levels and four open compartments in a low, wide profile. The standard size is 47.5" wide × 25.25" high × 12.5" deep. Every custom size keeps the same layout and proportions: the openings get a little wider, taller or deeper to match the dimensions you choose, and the approximate shelf height is shown as you pick.
Built from solid, kiln-dried walnut with no plywood, MDF or veneer. The shelves and sides are 3/4" thick with softly rounded edges, joined with hidden mortise and tenon joints and wood glue, so there are no visible fasteners. The shelves overhang the sides by half an inch. Finished with Rubio Monocoat hardwax oil; felt furniture feet are included.
Ships flat and assembles with no tools; most sizes take one person under 15 minutes. Each shelf holds more than 150 lb.

How do the custom sizes work?
Each design can be made a little wider or narrower, taller or shorter, and deeper or shallower than the standard size. Pick the dimensions you'd like from the dropdowns and the price updates automatically. The option marked "standard" is the size shown on the regular product page.
What changes when I adjust the dimensions?
The number of shelves and compartments stays the same; each opening gets a little wider, taller or deeper. The approximate shelf height is shown under the dropdowns.

How is the price calculated?
Our pricing is based on the amount of solid wood in the piece, so a wider, taller or deeper bookcase costs a little more and a smaller one a little less.
