Design details

A bar height table for two in solid white oak, built by hand in our Vancouver workshop. Two people can sit side by side on bar stools, with about 24 in of space each, and at 18 in deep it fits against a wall or under a window in a kitchen, a small dining nook or a home bar. Its legs and stretchers show traditional joinery, which gives it a sturdy look that suits minimalist, Scandinavian and Japandi rooms. White oak is a pale, golden tan hardwood with a tighter grain than red oak, and it's slightly harder. The stools in the photos are not included.

It measures 48 in long × 18 in deep × 42 in high (122 × 46 × 107 cm), a standard bar height for stools with a 28–30 in seat, and weighs about 78 lb (35 kg). The top is 1.25 in thick solid white oak from North American mills and the legs are a substantial 2.5 in thick, with no MDF, plywood or veneer. Each end is a frame of two legs and two rails joined with bridle joints. A long stretcher is half-lapped onto the bottom rails, a second one runs down the centre just under the top, and the construction leaves room for the wood to move with the seasons. We aim to grain match the boards in the top, and the edges are square with a light softening.

We finish it with Rubio Monocoat, a natural, non-toxic hardwax oil that protects the wood and brings out its grain and colour. If it ever picks up a mark, you can touch up just that spot, and we include a little extra finish for that, along with felt feet to protect your floors. For extra protection against water, stains and scratches, we can add a ceramic coating on request.

It goes together in under 20 minutes, and we include everything you need.

We make it to order in 4–6 weeks, or 6–8 weeks for a custom size, and ship it free across Canada and the US. In Metro Vancouver, we'll deliver and assemble it for free, and elsewhere white glove delivery is available at extra cost. It comes with our 5 year warranty and 30 day return policy.

Do I need to book my elevator?

If your bar table ships by courier, you shouldn't need to. In Metro Vancouver, we deliver at a time that suits you, so you can book it ahead if your building requires it. Please reach out if you'd like to discuss your order.

The entire table, top and legs, is made out of solid white oak

Is there any MDF or plywood in the 2 person bar table?

We only use solid wood, there is no MDF, plywood or otherwise veneered wood

What kind of finish is used?

We use Rubio Monocoat, a natural hardwax oil finish that offers protection without VOCs. It is Food Contact Compliant and GREENGUARD Gold certified. You can find more information on Rubio Monocoat's certifications here.

Is the finish safe for pets and children?

Yes, we use a non-toxic finish that is food safe and has 0% VOCs, more information on the finish and its certifications.

Are any chemicals used in the construction?

No, our bar tables are built with solid wood then finished with a natural hard wax oil that is non-toxic and VOC free.

Are there any visible fasteners?

No, there are no visible screws or fasteners. The bridle joints in the legs are left exposed as part of the design.

Is the tabletop grain matched?

Yes, we strive to grain match as best as possible though please note that every piece of wood is unique and therefore uniformity is not guaranteed.

Is the wood kiln dried?

Yes, the wood in all of our furniture, including the 2 person bar table, is kiln dried
