Can I customize the side table?

Yes, please message us at hello@ombahome.com and we'll provide a quote.

Can I order wood samples?

Yes, please request one here

What kind of assembly is required?

The legs are attached to the table top via mortise and tenon joints, reinforced with wood glue. It should take you no more than 5 minutes to assemble the side table.

Can I see the side table in person?

You're welcome to visit our Vancouver workshop, near Triumph and Victoria, to see any piece we're working on.

Shipping

When will the side table arrive?

We build all side tables by hand in Vancouver and deliver them within 4 - 6 weeks

Does the side table ship to the US?

Yes, we offer free shipping to the United States and Canada on all of our furniture, including the side table

Do I need to be home to accept delivery?

No, we use UPS and Canada Post so the side table will be delivered just like any other package you might receive

What if I want to be home to accept delivery?

Please leave us a note when placing your order and we will indicate that a signature is required to deliver your side table

Do I need to book my elevator?

You should not need to book your elevator as we use UPS and Canada Post for most of our deliveries, please reach out if you'd like to discuss your specific order though

Table construction

Where is the side table built?

Our side tables are made in our Vancouver workshop

What type of wood is used in the side table?

The entire table, top and legs, is made out of solid white oak

Is there any MDF or plywood in the side table?

We only use solid wood, there is no MDF, plywood or otherwise veneered wood

What kind of finish is used?

We use Rubio Monocoat, a natural hardwax oil finish that offers protection without VOCs. It is Food Contact Compliant and Greenguard Certified. You can find more information on Rubio Monocoat's certifications here.

Is the finish safe for pets and children?

Yes, we use a non-toxic finish that is food safe and has 0% VOCs, more information on the finish and its certifications.

Are any chemicals used in the construction?

No, our side tables are built with solid wood then finished with a natural hard wax oil that is non-toxic and VOC free.

Are there any visible fasteners?

There are no visible fasteners as the legs are attached to the top via hidden mortise and tenon joints

Is the wood kiln dried?

Yes, the wood in all of our furniture, including the side table, is kiln dried

Maintenance

How should I clean the side table?

Wipe up spills with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners—use mild soap and water if needed.

How heat resistant is the table top?

Moderately heat resistant, but not heatproof. We advise using trivets or pads for hot dishes.

Can the table be in direct sunlight?

Constant direct sun exposure will change the colour of the wood but not the integrity of the table itself.

Can the table be refinished?

Yes the finish we use (Rubio Monocoat) is intended to make any repairs simple: lightly sand and reapply oil to worn areas if needed
